Red 30 Day Challenge

Hi readers.
You all are in for a treat this month. I joined a 30 day challenge. Since I was gone pretty much all day today this won't be a big write up. However the goal of this challenge is to use a lot of untrieds. Today I managed to use two of them. A Sea Lore Arista polish and OPI Gettin Miss Piggy with it. I had already used Zoya Kissy on my Canada day post. Kissy applied wonderfully and I used two coats of that polish. Two coats of Arista on the thumb, middle, and pinkie finger, and Miss Piggy is on the alternating fingers. I thought they went very well together. Bad Kitty Gradient

For today I have an interesting purple mani for you. This will be a short post but with lots of pics. I have been wanting to practice gradient manicures for a while so today is day one. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the sponge technique but I just used the brush to get the polish on the nail and then sponged the line to blur it. When I used the sponge the color just wasn't bright enough for me. The first layer is Elixir Lacquer Bad Kitty. I used three coats to get the color I wanted. Then it was one layer of OPI Ink and Save me. The top coat was Seche Vite because that glitter was pretty rough. One layer of SV and then the nails are like glass. Get ready for some picture spam. I think this turned out pretty nice for my first attempt. I'll keep trying to get better!

Nail Mail 4/16/2012

Good Evening readers!

Last week I set up some swaps and they all came in. Epic nail mail day for me. First up is nail mail from Jacki Gentry at Adventures in Acetone. I received some OPI The One that got Away, Not Like the Movies, Color Club Club Metal, and Julep Alfre.

Next up is a package from Sheila at Pointless Cafe. I received a limited edition Models own Moulin Rouge. It is a gorgeous color. She also swapped me for the Black Dots and White Dots from Nubar. I LOVE Nubar.

Last up is my package from Ashley at Ashley is Polish Addicted  I received two OPI's Road House Blues (yumm) and Vampsterdam, NYC Starry Silver glitter and Color Club Cherry Sparkle.

Thank you to all my fellow bloggers for swapping with me. It made for an epic nail mail week. Plus I also received my Sandy Dandy shipping notice.
I wish I had my nailwheels so I could start swatching but they are currently in route to me. I should have some new mani's up this week so stay tuned :)

OPI

It's time for my first OPI swatches. When I first started with nailpolish OPI was the only brand I had.
After years of not applying anything on my nails (shame on me) I finally have gotten back to my nail roots. I just received a few polishes from the muppets collection and Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection. I still need the rest of her collection and I will eventually have them. So I was feeling like purple so I selected Pepe's Purple Passion and then layered on Teenage Dream. This combo is pretty together. They applied really well and I amazingly enough didn't have a lot of clean up to do. I wish I couldn've captured this in the sun but I didn't get to. Here are three pics for you to gaze at.
